摘要: Abstract Retinoids are essential for reproduction. Most research has focused on the role of retinoic acid signaling in regulation meiosis during early fetal germ cell development. However, less attention been paid to possible effects adult female gonads. Retinoic acid, its receptors, and key enzymes required synthesis expressed ovaries they involved folliculogenesis steroidogenesis. Exposure compounds that can interfere with normal is associated adverse ovarian outcomes, including altered steroidogenesis reduction indicators reserve women laboratory animal models. These observations call more retinoids as regulators physiology targets endocrine disruption by environmental chemicals. In this review, we summarize current knowledge post-pubertal mammalian ovaries.
