摘要: Abstract A system which shows a relatively large blue-phase range is investigated. Owing to the small value of cholesteric pitch no Bragg-reflections in visible light. Nevertheless, electric-field induced birefringence quite values. The response times are few tens microseconds below 10°C. Crude estimates effects lead values reasonably close experimental ones. Zero voltage encountered, field and slowly decaying at higher temperatures surface lower where uniaxial phase appears be stable.
