摘要: Background The atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) approach was born 25 years ago in Tanzania. It has evolved into an essential caries management concept for improving quality and access to oral care globally. Results Meta-analyses systematic reviews have indicated that the high effectiveness of ART sealants using highviscosity glass ionomers carious lesion development prevention is not different from resin fissure sealants. high-viscosity ionomer can safely be used restore single-surface cavities both primary permanent posterior teeth, but its restoring multiple surfaces teeth needs improved. Insufficient information available regarding restorations anterior teeth. There appears no difference survival glass-ionomer amalgam restorations. Discussion use results smaller acceptance preventive by children. Because local anaesthesia seldom needed only hand instruments are used, considered a promising treating children suffering early childhood caries. been implemented public health services number countries, clearly, proper implementation requires availability sufficient stocks good sets right start.
