Strain monitoring of braided composites by using embedded fiber-optic strain sensors

摘要: Recently, fiber optic strain sensors have been applied to internal and damage monitoring of composites because their small size, light weight flexibility. Braided reinforced plastics (FRP) are compatible with optical fibers can be integrated directly easily into fabrics. In the present paper, braided glass (GFRP) was conducted by using embedded Bragg grating (FBG) extrinsic Fabry–Perot interferometric (EFPI) during cure process, tensile tests fatigue tests. From experimental results monitoring, it found that both used only for thermal residual cooling process. tests, could measure correctly until initiation GFRP.
