摘要: Purpose To assess the role of anti-inflammatory medication following cataract surgery on formation posterior capsular opacification. Design Cohort study. Methods A retrospective registry analysis 25,818 consecutive patients who underwent between years 2014 and 2018 at Helsinki University Hospital in Finland. Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy rates were compared treated postoperatively with topical steroids, nonsteroidal medications (NSAIDs), or their combination. Kaplan-Meier Cox regression analyses used. single eye each patient was included. Main outcomes confirmed against a second independent dataset. Results total 13,368 included analysis, mean age 73.2 ± 9.7 years; 61.7% female. Pseudoexfoliation noted 10.1% cases. The follow-up time 22.8 15.7 months. Patients steroid monotherapy (28.9% cases), NSAID (62.2%), combination both (8.9%). Treatment steroids resulted significantly lower to NSAIDs (hazard ratio [HR] 0.76, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.62-0.93, P = .009). therapy showed no added benefit over (HR 1.11, CI 0.68-1.80, .674). adjusted for patients' age, sex, pseudoexfoliation, risk stratification remained predictive treatment 0.70, 0.52-0.88, .001). Conclusions Postoperative among undergoing uncomplicated associated clinically significant capsule opacification alone. Combination had
