摘要: Deinococcus radiodurans is known for its extraordinary resistance to various DNA damaging agents including γ-radiation and desiccation. The pqqE:cat Δdr2518 mutants making these cells devoid of pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) a PQQ inducible Ser/Thr protein kinase, respectively, became sensitive γ-radiation. Transcriptome analysis showed differential expression the genes those play roles in oxidative stress tolerance (DSB) repair D. genome maintenance response other bacteria. Escherichia coli expressing DR2518 improved γ-radiation, which increased further when both were present together. Although, profiles getting affected different, there still few common showing similar trends some others as reported earlier oxyR pprI mutant this bacterium. These results suggested that have independent but their co-existence improves radioresistance further, possibly by regulating important bacterial damage.
