摘要: Visual search of the environment is a fundamental human behavior that perceptual load affects powerfully. Previously investigated means for overcoming inhibitions high load, however, generalize poorly to real-world behavior. We hypothesized humans would process evolutionarily relevant stimuli more efficiently than novel stimuli, and evolutionary relevance mitigate repercussions during visual search. Animacy significant component because perceiving animate entities time-sensitive in ways pose consequences. Participants completing task located objects fastest with least impact load.
