摘要: Purpose: To ascertain whether patients with unilateral visual loss to a specific level are able approximate the degree of impairment quality-of-life experienced by bilateral same level. Methods: One hundred thirty-three study group (1) 20/40 or worse in at least one eye, and (2) marked difference between acuities their two eyes, were polled using time tradeoff method utility value measurement. All asked assume that acuity both eyes was as poor worst seeing eye. These values then compared those obtained from control 173 known who had similar loss. Both groups stratified into 4 levels visualloss (20/40 20/50, 20/60 20/100, 20/200 20/400, counting fingers light perception). Results: Mean for ranged 0.47 0.71. Patients loss, given assumption degree, routinely demonstrated no significant preferences true samelevel. Conclusions: can very accurately estimate would result if occurred remaining eye better vision.
