摘要: Abstract Snowdrifts around buildings can cause serious problems when formed on undesirable places. The formation of snowdrifts is highly connected to the wind pattern building, and again dependent building design. three different model are investigated. have same floor space, 2500×2500 mm but rooftops. were placed in a valley 3 km wide 20 long Spitsbergen, Norway. this blowing direction approximately 90% time during winter site well suited for studies snowdrifting. vertical profile measured. snowdrift height each surveyed 200 points contour maps produced. roof designs proved significant influence size A flat gives larger than single pitch roof, tilted upstream downstream wind. results be used improve design areas with snowdrifting conditions.
