摘要: An experimental investigation of the flow around surface-mounted cubes in both uniform, irrotational and sheared, turbulent flows is described. The shear was a simulated atmospheric boundary layer with height ten times body dimension. Measurements surface pressures mean fluctuating velocities within wake are presented. In latter case pulsed-wire anemometer used extensively since intensities were much too high for effective use more standard instrumentation. clear effects upstream turbulence on described, comparisons somewhat sparse measurements previous workers made relevance recent theoretical attempts to describe flow, as opposed numerical calculation techniques predict it, briefly discussed.
