摘要: This paper describes the development of a methodology for case-mix adjustment patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) data permitting comparison outcomes between providers on like-for-like basis. Statistical models that take account provider-specific effects form basis proposed methodology. Indirect standardisation provides transparent means case mix adjusting PROMs data, which are updated monthly Recently published patients undergoing unilateral knee replacement used to estimate empirical and demonstrate application in practice. The results illustrative highlight number theoretical issues warrant further exploration. For example, because differences instruments, methodologies may require instrument-specific approaches. A key assumptions made estimating models, could be open challenge. covariates post-operative health status expanded, alternative econometric methods employed.
