Law enforcement and deforestation: Lessons for Indonesia from Brazil

摘要: Abstract The Government of Indonesia has committed to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. However, the country suffers one most significant illegal logging land clearing conditions in world. Brazil was a similar condition when it implemented an aggressive strategic law enforcement policy which enable significantly reduce deforestation. does not have such approach enforcement. It should consider features Brazil’s strategy order improve its activities be able deliver on reduction that pledged Nationally Determined Contributions statement United Nations Framework Convention Climate Change. Indonesia’s efforts, those other countries, would enhanced by research reasons at root unsuccessful policies over two decades since spotlight put first Forest Law Enforcement, Governance Trade conference held Bali 2001.
