摘要: A number of studies in classical genetics suggest the participation specific genes alkaloid metabolism plants (Bohm, 1985; Waller and Nowacki, 1978). Extensive breeding studies, e.g., screening mutants cross-pollination, along with phytochemical investigations on alkaloid-rich (“bitter”) alkaloid-poor (“sweet”) forms Lupinus revealed several mutant alleles concerned contents (Saito et al., 1993a; Hondelmann, 1984; Williams Harrison, 1983; 1984). However, it has been just last 5 years that responsible for were isolated as defined DNA fragments nucleotide sequences. This progress molecular biology promoted by recent developments recombinant technology higher plants. provides tools to clarify regulatory mechanism governing at a level express cloned heterologous cells, mechanistic investigation well biotechnological application.
