The police stress hypothesis: a critical evaluation

摘要: Much attention has been given to the topic of occupational stress among law enforcement professionals during last decade. Yet, while number papers addressing this appear with increasing regularity in literature, basic assumptions underlying concept police have ignored or accepted as fact absence sound empirical support. This article represents an attempt (1) identify that underly stress, (2) review evidence related these assumptions, and (3) offer alternative paradigm designed guide future research on stress.
