摘要: Indecisiveness and doubt are cognitive phenotypes of compulsive disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder. Little is known regarding the mechanisms that drive these behaviours across a compulsivity spectrum. Here, we used sequential information gathering task to study indecisiveness in subjects with high low scores. These were selected from large population-representative database, matched for intellectual psychiatric factors. We show sampled more performed better when sampling was cost-free. When costly, both groups adapted flexibly reduce their gathering. Computational modelling revealed increased behaviour could be explained by higher decision thresholds that, turn, driven delayed emergence impatience or urgency. Our findings generalises spectrum beyond frank clinical disorder, this can within decision-theoretic framework as arising an augmented threshold associated attenuated urgency signal.
