摘要: In The Netherlands, fragmentation of (semi)natural ecosystems is regarded as a major nature conservation problem. current Dutch Nature Conservation Policy Plan proposes spatial network consisting existing reserves, redevelopment areas and corridor zones. One the objectives to stop assumed decline biodiversity due fragmentation. this contribution we show that breeding birds are affected by distribution their habitat. We also how problems can be solved integrating landscape ecological research data Into planning procedures. Fragmented bird populations metapopulation characteristics, dependent on degree This concluded from pattern studies, in which presence or absence patterns correlated with characteristics. Metapopulation dynamics were used, frequency local extinction recolonization related size habitat patches position landscape. conclusion that, depending scale, threat birds. On basis empirical data, statistical models being developed used evaluate scenarios support decision making about scenario closest aims.
