摘要: Vitamin D plays an important role in regular bone growth and adequate function of the innate immune system, including barrier functions mucous membranes. A sufficient supply during pregnancy lactation protects child from infectious diseases. Clinical symptoms severe vitamin deficiency (rickets) are well known can be easily detected. Signs beyond deficiency, however, remain to elucidated. Based on clinical observational data, plasma level 25(OH)D may serve as a 'marker' detect or define subclinical deficiency.
