摘要: The inner ear is one of the most challenging organs for drug delivery, mainly because blood-perilymph barrier. Therefore, local rather than systemic delivery methods are being developed therapy. In this work, we have evaluated benefit a hyaluronic acid liposomal gel sustained corticoid to after injection into middle in guinea pig model. was easily injectable as result shear-thinning behavior acid. A prolonged residence time at site well round window were achieved without any negative effect on hearing thresholds animals. presence liposomes formulation resulted release perilymph 30days and promoted conversion prodrug loaded within (dexamethasone phosphate) its active form (dexamethasone). way, therapeutic doses attained perilymph. small amount intact visualized perilymph, whereas main proportion seemed be trapped resulting reservoir effect. Thus, administration an efficient strategy delivering corticoids manner.
