Reverse Sural Flap with Bifocal Ilizarov Technique for Tibial Osteomyelitis with Bone and Soft Tissue Defects

摘要: Tibial osteomyelitis, in association with bone loss and a soft tissue defect, poses significant reconstructive challenge, especially high-risk patients. We describe case of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus tibial osteomyelitis intercalary successfully managed bifocal Ilizarov compression osteogenesis at the resection site proximal distraction osteogenesis, accompanied by reverse sural fasciocutaneous flap performed delayed technique. When free transfer is not option owing to medical comorbidities or patient refusal, combined can provide achieve limb salvage for these challenging cases.
