摘要: With the increasing longevity of United States population, clinical challenge is shifting from preventing premature death to improving function and quality life. Some major neurological impairments—stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's name a few—are strongly associated with age. Thus, means many elderly persons must cope cognitive, sensory, or motor impairments, some which may result in fundamental often permanent declines Although belong fastest growing segment population numbers people afflicted these impairments will likely keep pace, diseases remain poorly defined epidemiological terms. This chapter reviews what known demography risk factors age-related impairments.
