摘要: The neuropathological findings in all demented patients who were necropsied at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital during a 10-year period reviewed. Of total of 60 cases, 44 (73.3%) had typical changes Alzheimer's disease, while variety other conditions accounted for remaining 16 cases--neoplasms (four patients); lacunar disease viral infections (three patients: herpes simplex two and Creutzfeldt-Jakob one); non-specific brain atrophy (two single cases Huntington's chorea, subdural haematomas methotrexate-induced leucoencephalopathy. Associated cerebral pathologies found 17 (38.6%) included vascular lesions (eight cases), (six cases) Wernicke's encephalopathy cases).
