Community-Engaged Environmental Justice Research at University of Massachusetts Lowell

摘要: Several US universities have initiated community-engaged environmental justice research in the community and workplace.1 I focus here on projects implemented by University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML) since mid-1990s. The pioneer settlement fund Work Environment Justice Fund (WEJF) built efforts to address immigrant communities' exposures hazardous chemicals Massachusetts. After WEJF university faculty staff engaged community-based partnerships with Southeast Asian, Brazilian, Hispanic communities Merrimack Valley Boston Metro area.2 Brief descriptions a few these will illustrate university's commitment improving work environment conditions populations state.
