摘要: An antiserum specific for rat aminopeptidase M has been used the immunohistochemical localization of enzyme in brain and peripheral tissues. The is localized exclusively on blood vessels. Within pituitary was associated with vasculature posterior lobe, surface intermediate lobe some cells anterior lobe. In liver, fine cell staining observed between parenchymal cells, ileum entire lumenal stained, while kidney both proximal tubular a central detected. each tissue such that it can limit diffusion across barriers. Aminopeptidase activity proposed to function degradation synaptically released enkephalins. Its vessels requires enkephalins diffuse prior degradation, concept not concert current hypotheses. Based these studies away from enkephalinergic synapses plays key role terminating enkephalin action.
