摘要: article i nfo Ecological restoration programs and payments for ecosystem services have both attracted broad academic policy attention. While they are inherently linked thus should be part of the integrated processes management, been largely pursued separately. The majority ecologists socioeconomic scholars tend to dwell in their own "comfort zone" concentrate on different, disci- plinary facets same issues. However, this situation is not conducive accomplishment common cause. objective paper make a case more effective efforts integrating ecological substantive interdisciplinary col- laboration science practice service provision. To that end, relevant research developments bodies literature carefully reviewed, China's recent expe- rience lessons retiring converting degraded cropland extensively presented. It hoped these will highlight challenges opportunities current state affairs convince scientists different disciplines work together better broadly services.
