摘要: A 71-year old patient with a history of minimal periodontal attachment loss presented an asymptomatic, non-bleeding, isolated deep pocket on the mesio-facial central incisor. Such localized, pockets are most frequently associated root fracture or abscess, but in this case atypical ledge-like projection determined to be cemental tear was detected at base 6 mm pocket. Periodontal flap surgery revealed partial detachment cementum. Uneventful resolution achieved following planing remove fragment and placement bone graft resorbable membrane. This article reviews nature, predisposing factors, causes, clinical significance, treatment tears.
