摘要: Abstract Conventional water treatments are generally inadequate for degradation of emerging pollutants such as ionic liquids (ILs). The use heterogeneous electro-Fenton (HEF) has attracted great interest, due to its ability efficiently oxidize a wide range organic operating in cycles or continuous mode. In this study, the removal complex IL from imidazolinium family (1,3-Bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazolinium chloride), by means HEF using iron alginate spheres catalyst been investigated, resulting significant TOC decay after 6 h. optimization key process parameters (current, concentration and dosage) performed Box-Behnken experimental design achieving 76.98% abatement 2 h treatment. Current proved be crucial parameter high dosage is required achieve maximum removal. addition, an insight about availability into reactor evolution several intermediates carried out employing differential pulse voltammetry on screen-printed carbon electrodes. different voltammetric peaks confirmed influence release, generation complexes permitted comprehension pathway, which validated chromatographic techniques.
