摘要: AIM.  The aim of this study was to determine the sleep quality patients hospitalized in surgical units and factors that influence it. METHOD.  research a randomized descriptive study. It conducted clinics Sivas Cumhuriyet University Health Services Research Hospital. A total 411 participated data were gathered by means Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) Questionnaire aimed at capturing personal information about participant influencing their sleep. RESULTS.  score “during last week” (8.090 ± 3.504) higher than “preadmission” period (4.229 2.726) (p= .000). scores “the with previous hospitalization operation experience” .000), “those who had undergone major procedure” been for .022), undergoing medical intervention during sleeping hours” .000) high. CONCLUSIONS.  could be suggested preoperative postoperative periods cannot get adequate rest due low sleep-quality levels. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE.  Nurses can prepare an environment aiding as way increase patients' hospital.
