Mental disorders among today's labor force and preventive measures

摘要: In recent years, mental disorders among Japan’s labor force have emerged as a major issue, with statistics showing that nearly 60% of workers experience stress on the job, and approximately one million developed mood result. Dealing suffering from has become demanding task for employers, preventive measures are being sought. The Guidelines Maintaining Improving Workers’ Mental Health released by Ministry Health, Labour Welfare (MHLW) in 2006 calls four types health care (self-care, management supervisors, industrial staff, etc. placed at offices, external resources), primary measures, self-care, improvement work environments examined. Meanwhile, providing employees support reinstatement after health-related absences, pre-reinstatement rehabilitation programs (known Japan “rework programs”) drawing much attention means bridging gaps perception between professionals employers. Moving forward, to implement more effective specialists, human resources divisions must share common vision disorder countermeasures incorporating concept “work engagement,” supplement cooperate another’s efforts develop these countermeasures.
