Recent advances in genome mining of secondary metabolites in Aspergillus terreus

摘要: Filamentous fungi are rich resources of secondary metabolites (SMs) with a variety interesting biological activities. Recent advances in genome sequencing and techniques genetic manipulation have enabled researchers to study the biosynthetic genes these SMs. Aspergillus terreus is well-known producer lovastatin, cholesterol-lowering drug. This fungus also produces other SMs, including acetylaranotin, butyrolactones territram, bioactivities. review will cover recent progress mining SMs identified this fungus. The identification characterization gene cluster for as well proposed pathways, be discussed depth.
