摘要: The Doc retrotransposon of Drosophilamelanogaster encodes an RNA with two open reading frames (ORFs). ORF1 RNA-binding protein and overlaps ORF2, which a reverse transcriptase. Retrotransposons transpose to new positions in the genome via full-length intermediate. Because they do not encode coat protein, transposition is limited single cell lineages. In this paper we present evidence that shows highest levels transcripts are found adult male female germ-line. localized region cytoskeleton Drosophila oocyte. biological significance unknown, but discuss some possibilities.
