摘要: The effect of Fe was investigated in medicinally important plant, Bacopa monnieri L. and the response on malondialdehyde (MDA) content, superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) ascorbate (APX) found different roots leaves metal treated plants. Iron induced stress observed as indicated by high level lipid peroxidation, being more steep increase than roots. In roots, SOD activity to plants except 80 160 microM at 72 h, whereas, it decreased 10 40 after 48 h compared their respective controls. Among H2O2 eliminating enzymes, POD increased however, control. At 24 APX ascorbic acid content followed similar trend were both parts cysteine initial period exposure; no marked change its noticed leaves. leaves, non-protein thiol higher concentrations h. data proline have shown significant (p<0.01) onwards part Correlation coefficient evaluated between accumulations with various parameters also antioxidant MDA. Since bacoside-A (active constituent) increases, therefore, is advisable assess biological before using for medicinal purposes, particularly developing countries.
