摘要: The corpus luteum of pregnancy persists throughout the length gestation in dromedary camel and thus it is assumed that ovarian progesterone mandatory this species. objectives study were to test assumption maintenance state dependent upon camel. Thirteen parous, 10-11 months pregnant camels used. female divided randomly into three groups. Group 1 animals (3) control. II (7) ovariectomised. 3 ovariectomised received daily subcutaneous injection 100 mg powder prepared sesame oil for 60 days. Jugular blood samples taken heparinised syringes before after ovariectomy experimental period plasma was obtained stored at 30 c until analysed oestradiol-17β by radioimmunoassay. Removal ovaries containing corpora lutea group immediately followed abortion or premature birth. chronic administration succeeded maintaining with normal length. However, fetal viability maintained on lower than controls.
