摘要: This review attempts to provide up-to-date quantitative data from published reports on sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) appearing Medline and, especially, a means predict the probability of SUDEP given patient. The mean incidence was 1.8/1000, similar median 1.5. standardized mortality ratio 6.8, and percentage cases among deaths 16.6. Seventeen risk factors were identified, each value according number studies literature that specified condition as significant risk. addition these 17 values then indicated for author calculated group 91 patients who died also live patients. Many their different risks significantly different. sensitivity 71.3%, specificity 81.8%, positive predictive 84.6%. A discussion includes question whether is primarily cardiac or pulmonary suggestion it may be either both most important factor this study noncompliance with antiepileptic medication, main message caregivers therapeutic drug levels are crucial avoid SUDEP.
