摘要: Abstract The jaguar (Panthera onca) is the largest felid in Neotropics, and habitat fragmentation conversion are severe threats for this species. We used empirical models to identify suitable functional corridors jaguars design a strategy maintain connectivity Southern Mayan Forest, which spans border of Mexico Guatemala. Resource Selection Probability Functions patches that were occupied by jaguars. Then, we Step directly measure movement probability given different landscape variables generate resistance matrix develop model through Circuit Theory approach. Finally, categorized establish conservation management priorities. Landscape best described use movements similar. propose maintained large areas primary forest, located at longer distances from deforested with relatively gentle topography. On other hand, exists include forest cover surrounding area within 240 m, moderate medium slopes or flat areas. identified 27 50 Forest. However, some gaps protection these key habitats corridors. Decision-makers Guatemala should encourage investment specific sites conservation, programs, restoration ensure integrity entire Forest ecosystem.
