摘要: At the time of this study (2009) role nurse practitioner was new to province British Columbia. The provincial government gave responsibility for implementing health authorities. Managers authorities, many whom were unfamiliar with role, responsible identifying need NP determining how would function, and gaining team members’ acceptance role. purpose explain process implementation as it occurring identify factors that could enhance process. An explanatory, single case embedded units analysis used. technique explanation building used in data analysis. Three primary care settings one authority Columbia purposively selected. Data sources included semi-structured interviews participants (n=16) key documents. results demonstrate complexity a it. findings suggest early after hired, members needed clarify intentions they looked senior managers assistance. Acceptance facilitated by prior knowledge either or individual practitioner. Community providers be involved their developed gained understanding interconnectedness concepts intention, involvement influences is able function setting.
