摘要: The continuous growth in global population and the ongoing development of countries such as China India have contributed to a rapid increase worldwide energy demand. Fossil fuels oil gas are finite resources, their current rate consumption cannot be sustained. This, coupled with fossil fuels' role pollutants contribution warming, has led increased interest alternative sources production. Bioethanol, presently produced from crops, is one promising future source much research underway optimizing its economic temporal constraints that crop feedstocks pose main downfalls terms commercial viability bioethanol As an feedstocks, significant efforts been put into utilizing algal biomass feedstock for Whilst overall process can vary, conversion usually contains following steps: (i) pretreatment feedstock; (ii) hydrolysis; (iii) fermentation bioethanol. This paper reviews different technologies utilized steps, critically assesses applicability production biomass. Two established routes, single-stage two-stage gasification/fermentation processes, discussed. assessed adequately, further optimisation must guided toward cost-effective scalable methods produce high yield under optimum economy.
