摘要: Reproductive efficiency is critical to economic viability for cow/calf producers; however, very few producers take advantage of available reproductive technologies that can increase profitability. Today, more opportunities are who want capture value from known genetics. Through the use artificial insemination (AI), average producer has access a wide range high-accuracy sires be selected match production goals. Systems synchronize estrus and ovulation now produce pregnancy rates single fixed-timed AI 10-15% greater than those previous generation. Increased age weight calves at weaning sufficient in some situations pay cost synchronization AI. As result synchronization, cows calve early next year subsequent years synchronization. The breeding season shortened without reducing end-of-season rates, since synchronized have one chance conceive unsynchronized 22-25 day interval. Cow nutrition economically precisely managed with shorter period. Producers establish programs will prepared newly identified superior genetics or other technologies, e.g. sexed semen, when they become available. Trends towards value-based marketing improvements systems, make this key time aware possibilities using technologies.
