Hepatitis B and C knowledge among Saudi dental patients.

摘要: OBJECTIVES To explore Saudi dental patients' awareness of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and C (HCV) infections its knowledge transmission; to compare the HBV HCV practices men women. METHODS A pre-tested anonymous self-administered one-page questionnaire consisting 3 parts with 32 different statements concerning basic HCV, their mode transmission, risk behaviors, prevention, treatment immunization were randomly distributed patients at clinics waiting areas governmental private clinics. The study was conducted between 2006 2007, in Riyadh, Kingdom Arabia. RESULTS Six hundred seventy-seven participants responded questionnaire. More than 60% aware both approximately 50% that it could affect liver function lead death. Availability vaccine for a fact appreciated more by females (69%) males (31%) (p=0.00). It also found there is an increase level education higher income. CONCLUSIONS Efforts should be made develop implement educational campaigns community. These efforts might suitable male female audiences. Targeted community-wide awareness-raising health care worker required improve HCV.
