摘要: Post-translational modifications of lipids and proteins are important determinants in defining function both normal- disease-state biology (Apweiler et al. 1999; Bertozzi Kiessling 2001; Shental-Bechor Levy 2009; Varki 1993). In particular, the addition glycan residues synthesized by repertoire glycosyltransferases glycosidases provide mammalian glycome a large array structures that add to diversity already created proteome (Cattaruzza Perris 2006). At same time, many ubiquitous nature (van Die Cummings 2009). Pathogen glycans can mimic host glycosphingolipids, lending their pathophysiology. This mimicry provides insight into processes contributing pathophysiology, including elements recognition, signaling, evasion immune system processing (Tsai 2001).
