摘要: Experiments to study the mixing between two gases induced by Richtmyer-Meshkov instability are performed in a vertical shock tube of large, square internal cross section. The test gas is contained an axisymmetric soap bubble which at rest on injector and seeded with smoke perform planar Mie scattering. Concurrently laboratory experiments, computational investigation carried out using Raptor code- finite volume code that solves compressible Navier-Stokes equations Riemann solver Phil Colella’s Piecewise Linear Method for data reconstruction cell interfaces. Differences experiments include: perfectly spherical vs. near-spherical, shape; diffuse interface no film diffusion; absence presence hold place. Examples experimental images shock-accelerated bubbles shown below.
