摘要: Glutathione Transferases (GSTs) are crucial enzymes in the cell detoxification process catalyzing nucleophilic attack of glutathione (GSH) on toxic electrophilic substrates and producing a less dangerous compound. GSTs studies great importance since they have been implicated development drug resistance tumoral cells related to human diseases such as Parkinsons, Alzheimers, atherosclerois, liver cirrhosis, aging cataract formation. In this review we start by providing an evolutionary perspective mammalian cytosolic known date. Later focus more abundant classes alpha, mu pi their structure, catalysis, metabolic associated functions, relation inhibition methods. Finally, introduce recent insights GST class zeta from perspective.
