摘要: ALCUDIA is a 230 km long, vertical incidence deep seismic reflection transect acquired in spring 2007 across the southern Central Iberian Zone (part of pre-Mesozoic Gondwana paleocontinent) Variscan Orogen Spain. The carefully designed acquisition parameters resulted 20 s TWTT deep, 60–90 fold, high-resolution seismic transect. processed image shows weakly reflective upper crust (the scarce reflectivity matching structures identified at surface), thick, highly reflective and laminated lower crust, and flat Moho located 10 (30 depth). The transect can be divided into three segments with different structural styles lower crust. In central segment, crust imaged by regular, horizontal parallel reflectors, whereas northern it displays oblique reflectors interpreted as an important thrust (north) tectonic wedging involving mantle (south). that intracontinental orogenic crust, far from suture zones, may react differently to shortening in sectors, which taken evidence for decoupling. interpreted structures, as deduced surface geology image, show deformation was distributed homogeneously was concentrated wedge/thrust structures specific sectors crust. also location of late faults spatial association crustal thickened areas.
