Role of the Clinical Pharmacist in Improving Drug Therapy

摘要: We analyzed the effectiveness of clinical pharmacists in improving medical records and patient compliance with outpatient drug regimens. Records patients followed up a rheumatology renal clinic were reviewed compared their pharmacy files. evaluated for completeness accuracy drugs ordered by physician. Compliance was estimated examining refills. This review performed before (control group) nine months after (study introduction pharmacist into clinics. A six-month analysis demonstrates that significantly improved documentation, decreased duplication prescriptions, prescribed drugs. The study suggests improves documentation therapy compliance; decrease duplicate prescriptions could prevent risk overdose does reduce costs. ( Arch Intern Med 1981;141:1441-1444)
