摘要: Traditional uses of flow cytometry have been for research and diagnostic purposes, on mammalian cells. This unit focuses using a cytometer enumerating specific bacteria parasites. Several different labeling methods are discussed, as well how to set up detecting bacteria. Labeling include direct detection with primary fluorochrome-conjugated antibody indirect an unconjugated secondary antibody, rRNA sequence-specific peptide nucleic-acid probes end-labeled fluorochrome. Data throughout this focus Salmonella in clean matrices; however, pertinent information is also provided these label other pathogens. The Commentary covers critical aspects the protocols, includes suggestions application testing food pharmaceutical industries, environmental water testing.
