摘要: We sought to evaluate serum concentrations of cathepsin K in peripheral blood and determine whether they correlated with bone-mineral density (BMD) the incidence nontraumatic fractures. took samples from 162 patients (101 osteoporosis, 48 osteopenia) 13 healthy controls, then conducted quantitative measurements using a commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Cathepsin were fracture, BMD, markers bone turnover (alkaline phosphatase, bone-specific alkaline osteocalcin, parathyroid hormone, C-telopeptide). The correlations between subjects without fractures those multiple statistically significant (t = −2.1, degrees freedom 107, P .036). levels controls osteoporosis significantly different −3.7, 58.9, p>0.0001) These results suggest that level could serve as marker for fracture prediction BMD.
