摘要: OBJECTIVES: Epidemiological studies have shown a relationship between long-term use of proton pump inhibitors and bone metabolism. However, this has not yet become established. The aim the present study was to analyze mechanical properties mineral density (BMD) rats that were subjected omeprazole use.METHODS: Fifty Wistar weighing 200 240 g divided equally into five groups: OMP300 (omeprazole intake at dose 300 µmoL/kg/day); OMP200 (200 OMP40 (40 OMP10 (10 Cont (control group; dilution vehicle). solutions administered for 90 consecutive days. After had been sacrificed, their BMD, dissected femurs serum Ca++ levels analyzed.RESULTS: BMD group lower than controls (p = 0.006). There no difference on comparing OMP200, groups with controls. maximum strength rigidity femur did differ in experimental comparison statistically concentration 0.049), but other show any relation controls.CONCLUSION: Daily µmoL/kg/day decreased femur, without changes adult rats.
