Rectal microbicide acceptability: results of a volume escalation trial.

摘要: Objectives: The objectives of this study were to determine what volume a microbicide placebo gel is acceptable when applied intrarectally before receptive anal intercourse (RAI); and evaluate responses properties the gel, its application, use. Study Design: HIV-uninfected men who reported unprotected RAI with serodiscordant or unknown-status partners enrolled in escalation trial. Results: Up 35 mL physical Femglide (transparent odorless) was majority participants. Choice different levels viscosity may be needed. For some men, volumes judged tried without not used during sex. Overall, participants high intentions use microbicides available. Condom inconsistent despite advice condoms. Conclusions: Microbicides that would require up effective engage high-risk RAI.
