摘要: Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems, also called electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes, have been available for over a decade and use has increasing dramatically. The primary reported reasons are to aid smoking cessation reduction, yet significant proportion appear be long-term users of both products ("dual users"). Dual may motivated quit might benefit from behavioral intervention cessation. This paper describes the development, as well design, methods, data analysis plans an ongoing randomized controlled trial (RCT). Formative research learner verification were conducted create usable, understandable, acceptable self-help targeting dual users. efficacy is being tested in RCT with current (N=2900) recruited nationally one three conditions. Assessment Only (ASSESS) group only completes assessments. Generic Self-Help (GENERIC) receives non-targeted booklets supplemental materials sent monthly 18months. e-cigarette Targeted (eTARGET) newly developed (targeted materials) same period. All participants complete self-report surveys every 3months 2years. study outcome self-reported 7-day point prevalence abstinence. Cost-effectiveness metrics GENERIC eTARGET interventions will calculated.
