摘要: Few decisions that temperate-zone insects make during their lifetimes affect fitness more than of entering hibernal diapause, for an insect diapausing too early in the growing season fails to reproduce when enough time remains replace itself overwintering population and one committing reproduction it should have entered diapause reproduces without replacement before winter. Furthermore, individual enters may influence survivorship through winter even alter will commence activity following year (Denlinger Bradfield 1981; Henrich Denlinger 1982). Given significance timing induction overall success seasonal life histories, is fundamental importance we understand its evolution.
