摘要: Abstract The flesh-fly, Sarcophaga argyrostoma , is a long day insect with temperature-modified photoperiodic ‘clock’ controlling the onset of pupal diapause. critical daylength close to 13·5–14 hr light/24 at both 15 and 20°C, but diapause practically eliminated 25°C. entire larval period constitutes sensitive period, days have greater effect than short days. Larvae S. are able ‘add up’ successive light: dark cycles act accordingly. Moreover, number such required almost independent temperature, induction depends on ‘balance’ between temperature-dependent process (the rate development) temperature-compensated summation cycles).
